How can anyone describe the Sonatas and Partitas Senza Basso of Bach’s and do them justice? These 6 works represent the undisputed pinnacle of composition for solo violin, inspiring absolute wonderment, delight, joy and deep contemplation in all who have them in their lives. Every one of the 6 pieces contains every conceivable emotion, representing all aspects of the human condition. To perform them is a feat only the very best of violinists attempt; to delve into their mysteries and complexities requires flawless technique and a deep appreciation and knowledge of Bach’s music. Join Madeleine Easton over three evenings as she explores these works, interspersed with chamber music from the other masters of the Baroque.
